Report: Tony Allen will not play against Timberwolves

NBA: Playoffs-San Antonio Spurs at Memphis Grizzlies Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

MEMPHIS — The Memphis Grizzlies will be without another starter for Wednesday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Tony Allen has been ruled out by head coach David Fizdale, according to Phillip Dean of Sports 56 WHBQ in Memphis.

The good news is that this is only the Grizzlies’ first game of the season — which allows Allen to get healthy.

In addition to Chandler Parsons, the bad news is that Memphis will be without two starters, but this will give other players off the bench more playing time.

Brandan Wright has been ruled out as well with an ankle injury.

The Grizzlies and Timberwolves will tip-off at 7 p.m. CT.
