Grizz vs. Jazz GameThread

The Memphis Grizzlies are not off to a good start on their road trip. It will get no easier tonight in Utah.

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Are the Memphis Grizzlies a bad team right now?

Chris Herrington of the Memphis Commercial Appeal says yes, the numbers say yes, and so do I. They aren't converting from three-point range, they aren't defending the rim, and they aren't playing as a unit consistently enough to win. Their flaws were apparent in Milwaukee Saturday night, as an above-average at best Bucks team beat them soundly.

Tonight, the competition steps up as Memphis looks for their first road win of the season against the Utah Jazz. Our Game Preview discusses the potentially short-handed due to injury Jazz, but even with health issues this Jazz squad is relatively deep and is playing at a high level. The Grizzlies must defend the arc and create turnover opportunities for themselves while protecting possessions offensively if they hope to pull out the victory.
