Outstanding defense by the Memphis Grizzlies led the team to a 93-71 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The victory improved their winning streak to four, and the Grizzlies are now 2-1 against the Wolves this season.
Tony Allen: "We hold our hats on the defensive end."— Grace Baker (@GraceBaker901) November 20, 2016
The team overall shot under 40 percent from the floor. Three pointers were difficult to come by as the Grizz shot only 2-18 from beyond the arc. The only thing that saved the Grizzlies were free throws offensively and seven major blocks. Two blocks by Mike Conley and two for Marc Gasol in particular led the team to victory.
There were more free throws made than shots made from the floor.
Zach Randolph scored 18 points with 7 boards. JaMychal Green came away with 19 points and 8 boards. James Ennis had 11 points and 7 rebounds. The Grizzlies are now 8-5 (5th overall in the conference) and they hope to keep their defensive momentum against the Hornets on Monday.
