Game Story

The Grizzlies’ defense was solid to open the game, with the lineup of Conley/Allen/Ennis/Green/Gasol looking particularly strong. Holding Charlotte to just 45 points in the first half was good, but pouring in 69 on offense was even better. Thirty came from beyond the arc, with Conley, Gasol, Carter, Ennis, and even Tony Allen getting in on the action.

Charlotte managed to build some momentum on the strength of a strong third quarter by Frank Kaminsky (he finished with 23), cutting the 24-point lead in half. But Memphis weathered the storm with clutch play by Conley and Randolph, rebuilding an insurmountable 15-point lead with 3 minutes to spare.

This was the first wire-to-wire win for Memphis (and loss for Charlotte) so far this season.

Man of the Match: Mike Conley

Captain Clutch led all scorers with 31 points. He was 5-8 from three.
