It would seem that Chandler Parsons and the Memphis Grizzlies are so excited for the sharpshooter’s debut thay can’t wait any longer.
Both Mike Wallace of the Grizzlies’ Grind City Media and Tim MacMahon of ESPN are reporting that Chandler Parsons will rock Beale Street Blue for the first time Sunday afternoon against the Portland Trail Blazers.

It is good to see that the opponent for his debut is not lost on Parsons. Grizzlies fans surely remember the July recruitment of Chandler, and how the choice for Parsons came down to Portland and Memphis. He chose the Grizzlies, making him the biggest free agency signing in Memphis history and potentially finally solving the problem of who will create offensively on the wing for the Grizz.
Parsons almost certainly will be on a minutes restriction and will not be full tilt for a week or two, and he likely will always be rested a la Mike Conley and Marc Gasol as the season grinds on. But as he said in a text to ESPN, apparently there is no reason to wait. The time is now for the Memphis x-factor to make his Grizzlies debut.
This makes the Sunday matinee game at FedExForum on the first Sunday of November must-see TV, and hopefully will be a shot in the arm for a Grizzlies offense that has struggled mightily the past two games.
