Seriously, it happened. I swear.

NBA: Golden State Warriors at Memphis Grizzlies Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

Memphis’ hottest new club is “Blowing Out the Warriors.”

Located on the corner of Beale Street and Wendigo Drive, the Grizzlies new hot spot blew up tonight! This place has everything - massive free throw advantages, terrible shooting performances from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, Tony Allen made threes, and Marc Gasol domination.

The Memphis Grizzlies led by as many as 30 (yes, 30) points tonight as Memphis beat the Golden State Warriors 110-89. It took a village to dominate the Warriors like the Grizzlies did tonight - Memphis had seven players score in double figures led by Marc Gasol with 19 points, 8 rebounds, and six assists, and JaMychal Green with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

But the story of this game was the defense of the Grizzlies. Nothing was easy all night for Golden State - Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined to shoot 8-28 overall and 3-14 from three as the Warriors shot poorly from the field compared to their recent run of success. The Warriors also had 23 turnovers, well above their season average of 13.1 per game. Memphis played passing lanes, rotated brilliantly on the perimeter and at the rim, and truly earned this victory tonight.

This was no fluke. The Grizzlies had 22 assists, the Warriors had 14. Memphis shot 23-26 from the free throw line, Golden State shot 12-20. On this night, the Grizzlies wanted it that much more and executed that much better than Golden State.

Memphis is back in action Tuesday night as they start a home and home back to back against the defending NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers.
