Grizz vs. Cavs Part Deux GameThread

Don't be mad at the resting. Be mad at the scheduling.

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

The dominant story of the day in Memphis was the fact that LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love will not be playing against the Grizzlies tonight. There are some very disappointed people who spent a lot of money to see the stars of the Cleveland Cavaliers in action. This is understandable- you hate to see folks spend hard earned money and not see the reason they put up the cash in the first place.

But the NBA must address this, not the teams. The Cavs and Grizzlies (they do the same thing, remember) are just two examples of teams that rest key players with an eye to the postseason and maintaining health. Back to backs, especially of the head to head variety, are just absurd at this point. Add a few weeks to the season, shorten the preseason, space out the time enough so that this does not have to occur.

Until then? I get the anger, but teams must do what they think is best.

Please act respectfully as we enjoy this 21st century basketball experience. All opinions and "hot takes" are welcome as long as they are communicated intelligently and with attention of the golden rule- "don't be a jerk." Also, please do NOT post any illegal streaming links anywhere in the comments or elsewhere on the site.
