Game Story

After two ugly shooting nights in a row, the Grizzlies got off to another rough start in this one (opening 2 of 10 from the field), before finally getting back in the groove. Troy Daniels and Marc Gasol led the offense with 24 points apiece, but it was Mike Conley who scored the important buckets of the night down the stretch, playing through intense pain.

After trailing by as many as 17 in the second quarter, Boston slowly chipped away at the lead in the second half and, with seven minutes to play in the fourth, tied the game at 78 on an Isaiah Thomas triple. (Thomas finished with 44, 36 of which came in the second half and overtime. He was unstoppable.)

It was Thomas vs. Conley back-and-forth for the final two minutes of regulation, with Mike hitting this ridiculous layup to tie the game:

...but Thomas continued to dominate in overtime as the Celtics out-executed the Grizz in the final two minutes to seal the win.

Play of the Night

We can be sad about the loss, but we can also still make old jokes about Vince Carter, right?
