The Grizzlies had their second meeting against the Celtics tonight. However, double teams, tough post defense, offensive put-backs, and a three point barrage by Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, and Gerald Green led to a tough loss for the Grizzlies by the score of 113-103.
The game was close on several occasions. Memphis showed better effort and execution tonight than they did in Orlando last night. There was a stretch when the Grizzlies would fight with efforts led by Tony Allen defense and fastbreak offense. But there always seemed to be an answer from Boston.
In the end it was Isaiah Thomas again showing just how good of a scorer he is that led the Celtics to the win.
The key Grizzlies in tonight’s game were:
Marc Gasol had a near double double with 26 points and 9 assists. He also grabbed 4 rebounds.
Tony Allen scored 17 points and nabbed 4 steals. He also grabbed 8 rebounds with 1 assist.
Zach Randolph scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds with 2 assists.
Andrew Harrison scored 12 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and tallied 6 assists on the night.
Memphis is back in action Thursday night at home against Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
