The Grizzlies, despite Russell Westbrook’s effort and ejection, won the game against the Thunder 114-80. After the ejection, Enes Kanter and Steven Adams tried to lead the Thunder past the Grizzlies. However, it was Troy Daniels, Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol in the 2nd half took over the game offensively and defensively.
Here are tonight’s grades for the Grizzlies:
Marc Gasol: B+
Gasol’s 9-20 shooting wasn’t good, along with the missed threes. However, his defense was one of the keys to the Grizzlies win. He scored 25 points with 2 assists and grabbed 8 rebounds. He also blocked 5 shots with one steal.
Zach Randolph: A
Randolph’s 21 points inside and out helped the Grizzlies gain an advantage. He also tallied 2 assists and 8 rebounds.
Troy Daniels: A+
Daniels started the game with 0 points with two fouls. In the 4th quarter, he scored 22 points hitting threes. He was 6-8 from deep and tallied 2 assists and 3 rebounds.
JaMychal Green: A-
Green scored 17 points with two three pointers. He also tallied 2 assists and 4 rebounds.
Andrew Harrison: B
Harrison may have another slow night but his slashing ability helped the Grizz open the three point area. He ended up with 10 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds.
Rest of the Team: B+
The Grizzlies had one goal in common, shut down Russell Westbrook. Tony Allen took the charge and the Grizzlies forced 7 turnovers against Westbrook. The Grizzlies stuck to the gameplan and Westbrook was ejected from the game.
Dave Fizdale: A+
Fizdale’s plan was to have five bodies on Westbrook and he succeeded. The Grizzlies not only played hard defense aganist Westbrook but to Anthony Morrow, Jerami Grant, Steven Adams, and Enes Kanter. Not only did Fizdale reach his goal in the game, he came home with his last home win before 2017.
