Warriors make history, beat Grizzlies 125-104

Umm... so the playoffs anyone?

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Well…I mean it was an attempt y’all. I mean will anyone outside of Memphis even remember this loss five years from now? I don’t think so.

The Grizzlies started great, faded late in the first quarter, and then just totally lost it the rest of the way, going down by 21 by the 2:00 mark of the 2nd quarter, and allowing Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to score almost half of the Warriors '70 points in the first half by themselves, as the Dubs shot 50% FROM THREE.

Early in the third quarter Steph Curry became the first person in NBA history to hit 400 threes in a season, and….yeah the third quarter was more of the same, and the fourth quarter was just about the Warriors beating the 1996 Chicago Bulls' NBA record and going 73-9 in the regular season.

Just like last night, poor shooting killed the Grizzlies as they couldn’t buy a bucket and ended up with horrible shooting numbers across the board (43% from the field 33% from three). Zach Randolph had a team high 24 and Lance Stephenson had 22.

For the Warriors, Stephen Curry had a game high 46 points and hit more threes by himself (10) than the entire Grizzlies team (8). Draymond Green had 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists, the Warriors hit 20 threes, and that was the game.

The Warriors have the record, and I don’t even care because of two things:

1) The Grizzlies are in the playoffs, which start Saturday Sunday night, and all records are reset to 0-0 (even if it looks like a definite first round exit for them).

2) KOBE SCORED 60 POINTS IN HIS FINAL GAME AND THE LAKERS WON!! HE IS AMAZING, SIMPLY AMAZING!!! GOOD BYE, MY SWEET KOBE! HASTA LUEGO!!
