The Memphis Grizzlies reached an agreement with JB Bickerstaff to join David Fizdale's staff as associate head coach. Fizdale has been aggressive in assembling his new coaching staff, and may be a coach's coach as much as he is a player's coach.
As I reported over weekend - David Fizdale and JB Bickerstaff had dinner on Friday night. Bickerstaff spent most of the weekend in Memphis.— John Martin (@JohnMartin929) June 1, 2016
J.B. Bickerstaff, who somehow managed to take a team whose veteran leadership consists of James Harden and Dwight Howard to the playoffs, decided he'd rather be an assistant coach than remain a head coach in Houston. He was sought after by multiple teams, including the Lakers, and chose Memphis.

Something good is happening. Here's another guy who connects well with players, and he's held in high regard among the league. Honestly, it's kind of a coup because Bickerstaff could be a good head coach, but needs to distance himself from the poop monsoon that is the Houston Rockets.
