Timothe Luwawu, Guard/Forward, Mega Leks

Though perhaps a reach, we believe Timothe Luwawu is one of the best players available at this point in the draft, and one who fits in with our collection of long and defensively versatile wings. There were point guards and centers available in the draft that we liked and could've taken to address positional needs, but adding Luwawu allows us to continue and take this positionless experiment as far as it can go. He won't be redundant; he'll be part of our core, if all goes well. The emergence of Point Giannis clears way for Luwawu to play next to Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jabari Parker, which is actually the best sentence you'll read today.

His three-point shooting addresses a skill-based need, and he shows signs of being able to execute some secondary playmaking in the future. We're already believers in his ability to switch and swarm on defense. It may take some time, but we like Luwawu's chances to develop above and beyond his norm. At this point in the draft, that alone would do it for us.

Drafting for need is a terrible idea, because that's how you end up with Rashad Vaughn.
