So GBB and our main SB Nation site, SB Nation NBA, got together on this Trade Day (along with the other SB Nation NBA team blogs) and created a trade deadline primer for all of you fine people. You can watch the video in the main image above, or below this article.
Some highlights from the video?
- Starting Power Forward is a question- Not so much because JaMychal Green hasn’t done his part, but because whether or not he is “the future” of the position. I happen to think he is (see my argument for him here) but there are reasons to suspect he isn’t worth the money to Memphis that it will take to keep him here. How the Grizzlies front office approaches him the next month bears watching.
- The wing is getting crowded- As Chandler Parsons, who is looking better and better with each game, rounds back in to playing shape, the perimeter players of the Grizzlies have to be doing the math. Unless Head Coach David Fizdale makes some creative moves (Tony Allen the POINT GOD), there won’t be enough time to go around for Vince Carter, James Ennis, Troy Daniels, etc. Carter, one would imagine, would be the odd man out of those three considering he is 40 and not under contract for next season...could he be moved in a deal? On the other hand, he just played 29 minutes, the most of any bench player and more than Tony Allen, against the Thunder. The wing rotation is a big question mark moving forward.
Thanks to Seth Pollack and the good folks at SB Nation NBA’s video department for helping us put this together. What do YOU think the Grizzlies should do during this trading season? Tell us in the comments below.
