While the Memphis Grizzlies lost a closely contested game in Portland 109-112, Chandler Parsons suffered a blowout loss online when the Trailblazer’s tweeted a gif of him shooting a gnarly air ball. Chandler fired back, but CJ McCollum ultimately hit him with the dagger.
The Trailblazer’s initial Tweet was pretty savage, all things considered. Parsons is coming off of a knee injury, and it’s probably unnecessary to gif an opposing player’s air ball in the first place. However, we live in a wanton dystopian future and the Trailblazers always shoot to kill.
To be fair, the NBA 3-point line is really, really far away from the basket. pic.twitter.com/dHusI9cHcW

Typically Chandler’s a sharpshooter on Twitter. Bleacher Report recently ranked him as the NBA’s 13th best Twitter account. When one fan asked him what he wanted for Christmas, he said “Healthy knees.”
Unfortunately, he left his A game at home when he replied to the Trailblazers.
@trailblazers good luck in the lottery show this year✊

Seems like a good enough comeback, right? Turns out: nope. Not at all.
Remember the list ranking CP as the 13th best Twitter account in the league? That same list ranked Portland’s Twitter handle and CJ McCollum at 5th and 8th respectively, and CJ didn’t hold any punches.

McCollum turned up the heat on what already was a nasty burn.
Portland courted Parsons in free agency, offering him at or near the max, but Chandler chose Memphis—a lucky break according to McCollum. True, Chandler hasn’t recovered from his knee issues, but I have no doubt he’ll transform the Grizzlies offense once he’s healthy.
In garbage time, Parsons jacked up another shot in response to CJ, and I’m going to call it another air ball.
@CJMcCollum stop it. Technically, I hit the lottery.

While Chandler signed a contract worth over $94 million with the Grizzlies, that neither addresses nor refutes CJ’s criticism: thus far his injury woes haven’t made him worth the payout. Also, McCollum just signed a $106 million extension, so he’s rich as hell too.
Twitter was swift in its deliberation, and declared McCollum the winner. This tweet followed Parson’s reply above.

Has CJ McCollum cursed Chandler Parsons? Will he forever shoot 6 points per game? I think he can get healthy, and when he does these Grizzlies will be unlike anything we’ve seen before.
Oh man, Chandler Parsons bout to drop 32 pump fakes next game.
