For Grizzlies fans, Santa came early this year. Unfortunately, he left a great big pile of coal instead of any presents.

On Monday afternoon, the Memphis Grizzlies provided a medical update on three players: Mike Conley, Wayne Selden, and Brandan Wright.

The good news is that Wright should return to action this week after recovering from a groin injury. Selden, who has struggled with right quad tendinopathy (the same injury that sidelined Kawhi Leonard for so long), is also expected to return in the near future.

Conley, on the other hand, still has no timetable for his return. It was originally expected that Conley would be back around Christmas time. Per the update on the team’s site, that’s no longer the case. Conley “continues to participate in therapy and treatment to alleviate soreness in his left heel.” He will be re-evaluated in two weeks’ time.

This comes as a major blow for a team that has lost 15 of its 17 games since Conley went out. If things don’t get better soon (and they may not), it may be time to start considering whether or not to shut Conley down for the entire season.
