Memphis Grizzlies vs. New Orleans Pelicans GameThread

New, comment

As always, Memphis will only go as far as their two best players will take them.

Jennifer Stewart-USA TODAY Sports

Calling out beloved players isn't easy.

It isn't fun to acknowledge that the two best basketballers on the Memphis Grizzlies, Marc Gasol and Mike Conley, aren't playing their best at any given time. But that is exactly what was happening just a month or so ago. Mike was still coming back from injury, Marc was in a funk, and the team suffered because of it.

Now? Happy days are here again.

Gasol and Conley are the two main reasons Memphis is back on the winning track, possibly going 8-2 heading in to the All-Star Break if they win tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans. They are executing well on both ends of the floor (especially on offense) and leading the Grizzlies as they pursue another playoff run just two shorts months from now.

The All-Star Break is a time to reflect. And it is nice to look back on a recent run of great play by two of Memphis' finest.
