Check out how to re-live our first historic Memphis Grizzlies moment!

“If you weren’t there, you can’t understand.”

I have always been jealous of people who were at the 2011 upset by the Memphis Grizzlies over the San Antonio Spurs. I watched from afar, and I remember thinking how awesome it must have been to feel the energy in FedExForum, how fun “Super Z-Bo” Zach Randolph must have been to see live.

How crazy it must have been to be there for this-

Our “Moments in Grizz-tory” video series (check out the original introductory post here if you missed it) will begin with that amazing shot to clinch Game 3 of the 2011 Western Conference First Round series. Again, here’s GBB Video Content Editor Mark King on just how to get involved-

...all that you have to do is record yourself telling us how you lived that moment. Where you at home watching on TV? Were you in the arena court side? Were you in the terrace level? At a party with friends? Whatever the situation, we want to hear from you. You can record your video by yourself, with friends, with your spouse, with your family, anyway that you want! Be creative, and tell us ALL the details that happened when you were watching your favorite team. Did you cry? Did you get mad? Don’t leave any detail out, we want to hear it all!

Once you’ve recorded your video you can email it to or submit it to Dropbox using this link-

Some video tips:

1. Try to record in a quiet environment. Try to avoid the dogs barking in the background if you can.

2. Keep it simple. Recording on your smart phone is absolutely acceptable!

3. Record in landscape mode. Turn that phone on it’s side.

4. Start recording, count to three and then start talking. This gives a few seconds to edit the video with.

5. TELL US YOUR NAME! Make sure you tell us who you are so we can put that in the video!

6. Most of all, have fun, be creative and tell us your story!

We’re excited to begin our series with such a powerful point in the early history of the “Grit and Grind” era! We will be taking video submissions through Thursday, February 23rd at 9 PM CT. We hope to have our first video complete for viewing Monday, February 27th!

We look forward to hearing your piece of Grizzlies history told!
