Grizzlies vs. Spurs GameThread

For the first time in a long time, Memphis gets a shot at San Antonio fully healthy.

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

Full credit to the San Antonio Spurs- they knew they were facing a watered down version of the Memphis Grizzlies in the playoffs last season.

No Mike Conley. No Marc Gasol. Jordan Farmer and Chris "Birdman" Andersen seeing big minutes. Yep, safe to say that even though Memphis never quit, and even though San Antonio paid respect to the Grizzlies and their efforts, it just was never in question how things would play out. The Spurs destroyed a Grizzlies team that was a shell of its former self.

That sucked. But now?

It's a fair fight.

Mike Conley and Marc Gasol are healthy. Chandler Parsons is nearing playing a full allotment of minutes. Brandan Wright is back. Combine those guys with Zach Randolph, and Tony Allen, and Vince Carter, and JaMychal Green...

San Antonio may still be better than Memphis. But there won't be any "poor Grizzlies" after this game. It's gonna be a battle.
