View from the Enemy: Spurs vs Grizzlies

The Grizzlies extended their winning streak to four against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night

View from the Enemy

The Grizzlies are on a roll. They have won four and last night took down the previously 52-15 San Antonio Spurs. Mike Conley had 19 points and seven rebounds while Marc Gasol led the team with seven assists.

The view from the enemy is built according to various Twitter sources and San Antonio Spurs SB Nation Pounding the Rock GameThread.

Before the game

Looking forward to some anti-grind tonight.

The Spurs were 2-2 in their last four games, but Spurs fans were confident.

During the game

Referees were feeling some heat during the game!

He legit just slapped the man in the face. What do we have to do for the refs to call a foul?

we haven’t helped ourselves, but the officiating has been horrific

They are also concerned with his Kawhi Leonard-dependant they have become

Spurs becoming a one man team…..

Kawhi or bust. Lately it seems that the Spurs need Kawhi to score 30 to even being in the game….thats a big problem

It helped that the Grizz came to play last night and couldn’t miss!

After the game

Spurs fans were trying to figure out what to do with Tony Parker and here is one of the best comments on that (there were A LOT with most of them agreeing he is untouchable).

Here are my rational arguments to keep Tony:

He’s Tony Parker, one of the Spurs Big Three. He is untouchable and unquestionable till the end of time.

In case you need more rational arguments:

If Pop trusts him, I trust him.

When Tony’s good, he’s REAL good.

As far as I’m concerned, no team should depend on ONE player*, so when Tony’s not good, we should have someone (or several someones) to make up for it.

*The same goes for Kawhi. If anything concerns me about the team, and I’ve said it before, is that I think that Kawhi scoring 30pts is great and good… But I’d much rather have a team where scoring is more evenly distributed, as it would likely mean there’s a better overall offense and we don’t have to dread every Kawhi-less/Kawhi’s-off-nights game.

This was also a possible playoff match-up and here’s what Spurs fans think of the outcome.

chances are pretty high we will be playing Memphis in the 1st round.

I think we advance but will probably take 6-7 games.

They are confident about beating the Grizz at home though.
