Once again, the Memphis Grizzlies enter a playoff series without being at full strength.
Put aside Chandler Parsons for a moment, considering he was never really healthy all season long. Tony Allen's calf injury impacts Memphis the most at the moment. He was the player being depended on to try to contain Kawhi Leonard. He was a veteran starter on a team that needs depth on the perimeter in the worst way.
For now, at least, that is gone.
But there are potential positives to all this, as I outlined in our Game Preview for today. It will be up to Coach Fizdale to organize a game plan and take advantage of the element of surprise he now has at his disposal. It will be up to the Grizzlies wings like Troy Daniels and James Ennis III to convert from range and be different kinds of offensive threats from TA.
Allen will be missed. But if played right, the Grizzlies still have a chance.
