Grizzlies vs. Thunder GameThread

How do you stop history?

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

The Memphis Grizzlies are staring history in the eye tonight at FedExForum.

Russell Westbrook needs only one more triple-double to set the single-season record for triple-doubles in a season. Surely he and his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates will be looking to make that happen sooner rather than later, and tonight as a final death blow to the hopes of the Grizzlies for the six-seed in the NBA playoffs would be great for them. Combine that with the fact that Mike Conley will be out for Memphis, and it surely has the looks of a coronation on Beale Street for a new triple double king.

That shouldn't concern Memphis now. Playing good basketball and entering the playoffs healthy and executing well must now be the priority, as a date with the San Antonio Spurs looks to be all but certain. But if the Grizzlies could somehow knock off the Thunder without Conley?

Record or no record, the final home stand of the season for Memphis would get a lot more interesting.
