One of the roster moves that we knew was coming has finally gone down. On Friday evening, the Grizzlies announced that they had traded three point specialist Troy Daniels to the Phoenix Suns.

The Grizzlies will also send one of their three 2018 second round picks to Phoenix. In return, Memphis receives a 2018 second round pick. Per sources, this pick is heavily protected (top 55).

For the Grizzlies, this trade makes sense. Daniels is a one-trick pony, even if that one trick can be extremely fun to watch. The Grizzlies also still need to clear up roster space with a full roster and JaMychal Green remaining unsigned. Hopefully this is a sign that the Grizzlies are close to getting a deal with Green done.
From Phoenix's side, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Daniels and Suns star Devin Booker were not exactly best friends on the court last year.
