Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace sent out an email to season ticket holders earlier this afternoon to share the news that guard Mike Conley will miss the remainder of the season due to upcoming surgery to smooth a small bone protrusion in his left heel. It’s the same heel/Achilles that’s been bothering Conley for years and kept him out for the majority of this season. Chris Wallace said Conley is expected to make a full recovery prior to next season’s training camp.
In the email, Wallace also addressed the season not going as planned. He stated that the team is committed to “playing hard and playing the right way night in and night out,” while also mentioning the need to develop the young talent on the team as well as make improvements via player development, NBA draft preparation, free agency, or trades.
