The Core Four (Emergency Show): Episode 14

Parker and Nathan try to talk Grizzlies fans off the ledge

NBA: Memphis Grizzlies at Indiana Pacers Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

After an almost comically terrible season opener, many fans of the Memphis Grizzlies were like Chicken Little, acting as if the sky must be falling.

It’s a good thing the season opener counts as just one game like all of the other games in the NBA season!

However, Parker and I have many concerns about the team going forward. And we needed an emergency podcast to express them while (hopefully) talking everyone off of the ledge.

We discussed:

  • The Grizzlies’ head-scratching history of poor season-openers
  • Why in the hell did Dillon Brooks only play 6 minutes against the Pacers?
  • The Grizzlies’ poor choice to play it safe and what the role of their veterans should be going forward
  • Jaren Jackson Jr. must be taken out of his box

You can expect many more emergency podcasts throughout the season as the Grizzlies progress through their many highs and lows.
