The Memphis Hustle announced their training camp roster this past Saturday afternoon, after the completion of the 2018 G-League draft. The Hustle held the 6th pick in the draft, before trading it to the Northern Arizona Suns along with the G League rights for Kuran Iverson and Shaquille Thomas. In return, the Hustle acquired the G League rights of Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson and Shaquille Harrison, who was signed by the Chicago Bulls a day after the trade.
In the draft, the Hustle selected two White Station High School alums, drafting Curtis Phillips in the 3rd round and Nino Johnson in the 4th. Phillips averaged 14.3 points and 5.2 rebounds last season for Tennessee Tech. Johnson averaged 17.5 points and 10.9 rebounds in 11 games for Thor AK Akureryi, a team in Iceland’s professional league.
The Memphis Hustle announced they will host their training camp starting today through the 28th. Afterword, the Hustle will host their second annual media day Thursday November 1st at 10 AM. The Hustle roster will look much different this season compared to last years team after a flurry of trades in the offseason. Dusty Hannahs is the only member of last years team to return to the Hustle for their second annual season. Join Hannahs this year are Grizzlies training camp participants Brandon Goodwin, Markel Crawford, Doral Moore, Ismaila Kane and two-way players D.J. Stephens and Yuta Watanabe. The Hustle also added 4 players from their local tryouts.
