MILWAUKEE BUCKS- Eric Bledsoe, Malcolm Brogdon, Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez

The Milwaukee Bucks are undefeated at home. The Grizzlies held that claim until Monday night. Memphis hopes to share their Monday night feeling with the Bucks tonight.

Milwaukee is coming off two nights of rest after defeating the Denver Nuggets Sunday night, something the Grizzlies were also able to do a week ago. The Bucks have an impressive resume with wins over the Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors, and the Nuggets, proving that this team belongs in the conversation for the Eastern Conference crown.

The Grizzlies come into town after dropping their first game at home to the Utah Jazz. It is the same old story for Memphis dealing with six injuries, two starters and a sixth man included and losing games they shouldn't win and winning games they aren't expected to. If the Grizzlies plan to follow brand and win a game no one expects them to, there will be a few things to watch for.

Greek Freak vs. JJJ

This could be a long but short night for the rookie. Jackson Jr. will be tasked with attempting to slow down one of the superstars in the NBA. Jaren has struggled with foul trouble this season and there is a sobering reality that he could find himself on the bench early tonight with the same issue.

On the offensive end, JJJ has yet to face off against an opponent of Giannis’ length and athleticism. He will not be able to easily take him off the dribble or get easy shots off in the paint. This will be the toughest test the 19 year old will face all season.

MarShon Brooks and Wayne Selden Jr.

Dealing with five injuries is tough for any team. Dealing with five injuries for a team that struggles to score at times is an even bigger challenge. Dillon Brooks was just finding his rhythm and then a freak accident occurs to take him out 6-8 weeks. So, there is a void, a void for bench scoring.

There seems to be no leader in the clubhouse for who will assume the bulk of the bench wing minutes and Coach Bickerstaff is waiting for MarShon Brooks or Wayne Selden to step up and take the helm. It is currently a game to game and even a possession by possession process for these two players. JB has not been hesitant to pull these players off the floor if they are not helping the team. Look for both Brooks and Selden (hopefully) to get on track tonight.

The Grizzlies are currently a 10 point road dog. The reality is that defense travels and the Grizzlies just don’t let teams score more than 100 points. The Bucks are one of the most improved offensive teams in terms of efficiency, so something will have to give tonight. I like the Grizzlies to cover but the Bucks will just be too much for an undermanned team.
