Grizzlies to host pre-draft workout May 24th

Grizzlies aren’t just focusing on the first round with their workouts

NCAA Basketball: Wake Forest at Georgia Tech Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Memphis Grizzlies announced today that they will be holding a pre-draft workout tomorrow, May 24th, at 10:45 AM. The players attending the Grizzlies workout are Braian Angola (Florida State), Justin Bibbs (Virginia Tech), Chris Chiozza (Florida), Josh Okogie (Georgia Tech), Admiral Schofield (Tennessee) and Jonathan Stark (Murray State).

These players are currently being projected to be drafted in the second round and the Grizzlies seem to be looking at them with either the 32nd overall pick, or as potential players to trade into later in the second round with, similar to what they did last year with both Ivan Rabb and Dillon Brooks.

It’s an interesting group of players attending the workout, as Admiral Schofield is the only non-guard on the list. It’s a bit of a homecoming for some of the attendees as Chris Chiozza attended White Station High School and Jonathan Stark played at Munford High School. Admiral Schofield played his college ball across the state at Tennessee.
