Most of these guys are potential targets at 32 or as late-second round options, as 4 of the 6 prospects are in the ESPN top 100.
Jordan Barnett and Obi Enechionya are the lone prospects outside the top 100, but these guys are probably getting looks for the Summer League squad.
Theo Pinson was a four-year forward at North Carolina and flashed versatile in this last two seasons — 10.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists. However, he needs to improve his jumper, as he shot 25.7 percent from deep last season.
Devon Hall could be an interesting option for the Grizzlies at 32, as he has upside as a 3-and-D wing. He also shot a sizzling 43.2 percent (57-for-132) from deep last season.
The two names to watch in this workout as Kostas Antetokounmpo and Malik Newman.
Kostas Antetokounmpo is an intriguing prospect in the second round because of his physical tools — and it helps when you have an older brother that’s pretty good at basketball, too. At 6’10” with a 7’2” wingspan, he possesses potential as a multi-positional threat with the ability to play the 5-position. Even though he didn’t get much run at Dayton (15.1 minutes per game in 29 games), he could be a nice gamble for any team in the second round.
Finally, Malik Newman — a prospect Chris Wallace dreams about. McDonald’s All-American? Check. University of Kansas product? Check. Probably going in the second-round? Check. Newman helped his draft stock at this season’s national tournament, as he averaged 21.6 points on 44.1 percent shooting, 6.2 rebounds and 2 assists. Might as well mark him at the 32nd pick.
