NBA releases TV schedule for the first week of the season, Christmas, and MLK Day

Once again, the Grizzlies will showcase to a national audience on MLK Day.

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Memphis Grizzlies Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

The NBA released the national TV schedule for the first week of the regular season, the Christmas Day and MLK Day games. This is the league’s first preview before releasing the full schedule later on this month. As for the Grizzlies, they are in prime time on MLK Day.

The Memphis Grizzlies will face Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans at 4:30 CST on TNT.

Each year the league showcases a wonderful tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Memphis. It puts the Grizzlies on the main stage. The commissioner comes to Memphis and says a few words before the game that evening. It highlights the work Dr. King did during his life and gives meaning to everything he achieved which resonates throughout the NBA community.

This is a great night for the city of Memphis, and the Grizzlies specifically, to be in the national spotlight. Last season, the Grizzlies got an impressive win against the Los Angeles Lakers. This season, they look to continue that trend against the Pelicans.

Make sure to stayed tuned in with GBB as the rest of the schedule comes out. We will then continue with more analysis of the Memphis Grizzlies’ 2018-2019 schedule.
