It may be very early in the season for the young Memphis Grizzlies, but there is still much to discuss in terms of observations so far. Growing pains have been self-evident as the Grizzlies have generally let go of the rope in the second halves of games after generally playing very well in the first.
Ja Morant has exceeded expectations, while Jaren Jackson Jr. has done the opposite so far. The wing rotation has been a complete mess. Pick-and-roll defense exists more in theory rather than reality.
Sounds about right for a young, inexperienced, raw, rebuilding team.
This week, Parker and I discuss:
- Ja Morant’s impressive start
- Jaren Jackson’s early struggles and how they can be improved
- Game preview of the Houston Rockets
