The Memphis Grizzlies make a draft night move and trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder to go up two spots and get the guy on the top of their boards, Brandon Clarke. This is a huge move for Memphis to get another ridiculously athletic player from this draft.

What a night it has been for the Memphis Grizzlies. They started it off with drafting Ja Morant second overall turning the page to a new era of Grizzlies basketball. They now follow it up with this pick of Clarke.

They received this selection in the Mike Conley trade with the Utah Jazz earlier this week, and then they flipped it up to the 21st overall pick. Brandon Clarke is one of the best rim protectors in this draft. He has great finishing ability around the rim as well. Clarke is a very good player that fell in this draft. He had been seen top 10 in some expert’s big boards.

Clarke will fit nicely with this Grizzlies roster. Last season at Gonzaga, he averaged 16.9 points and 8.6 rebounds a game. Paired next to Jaren Jackson Jr. will be a perfect spot for him to show off his talents. This new front court will lead to a promising, defensive first attitude.

This will be a new look Grizzlies team with Ja and Clarke joining a roster with Jaren Jackson Jr. and now Grayson Allen. These are exciting times for the Memphis Grizzlies. They will have fresh start with this young roster and a brand-new head coach. If they can get some continuity with this talented core, it will be some fun times heading their way.

We will see if the Grizzlies somehow get back into this draft, but if not, it has been a franchise-changing night. Morant has the chance to be a generational talent at the point guard position and added with Clarke. The pairing will be tearing it up soon enough.
