Core Four: The swagger of Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant

We’re all just living in it.

NBA: Houston Rockets at Memphis Grizzlies Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

After Ja Morant’s incredible behind the back dribble into an incredible pass for a Jaren Jackson Jr. slam, my dad texted me something he never had before in the middle of a Grizzlies game—”This is mesmerizing”

This is what Morant and the rest of the Grizzlies’ uniquely talented young core provides every single night for those that watch them: a chance to witness superb basketball while also possibly seeing something that you have never seen before.

And as the Grizzlies seek to add on their six-game winning streak while also remaining the league’s best story, there is much to discuss! In this week’s edition of the Core Four, Parker and I discuss:

  • Dillon Brooks’ status as the Grizzlies’ best wing scorer since Rudy Gay and what he could possibly be for the Grizzlies in the future.
  • Ja Morant’s impact both on the city of Memphis and the rest of the NBA as a whole
  • De’Anthony Melton’s meteoric rise as an elite role player
  • How the Grizzlies will match up with other Western Conference contenders over the next few years

As usual we appreciate everyone who listens to the podcast and reads our content on a daily basis. You can follow Parker Fleming on Twitter @PAKA_FLOCKA, me @NathanChester24, and Grizzly Bear Blues @sbnGrizzlies.

This is one of the most exciting times in the last decade to be a fan of the Memphis Grizzlies. Don’t miss out!
