The NBA G-League announced their All-NBA G League and Defensive Teams for the 2019-2020 season earlier today. The Hustle were well-represented with forward Jarrod Uthoff being named to the First Team, while Dusty Hannahs was named to the Third Team
Uthoff had a great first season with the Hustle averaging 18.9 points, 10.7 rebounds and 3 assists per game. He was a great all-around player for the Hustle where he averaged 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting nearly 50% from the field and 36.3% from beyond the arc. He was also an analytics darling for the Hustle, leading the Hustle in a majority of the advanced stats, most importantly in Win Shares. Uthoff got his NBA call up to the Grizzlies on February 27th and appeared in 4 games during his 10-day contract.
Dusty Hannahs continued his development in his third season with the Hustle. More than doubling his rookie season stats, Hannahs led the Hustle in scoring averaging 21.4 points per game while shooting 46.9% from the field and 44.8% from beyond the arc. He proved himself to be a 3-level scorer for the Hustle this past season and showed growth as a point guard after Matt Mooney was called up and signed to a two-way deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Hannahs earned an NBA Call Up with the Grizzlies on February 21st where he appeared in 2 games during his 10-day contract.
The Hustle went 26-15 before the G-League season was suspended and ultimately cancelled due to COVID-19. Both Uthoff and Hannahs are big reasons why the Hustle were well on their way to the best season in franchise history.
