If Grizz Gaming had secured a win, they had the opportunity to get revenge on Mavs Gaming whom they lost to a week ago. Unfortunately, Grizz Gaming had their sights set on tomorrow night, and not the opportunity that sat in front of them on Wednesday night against Lakers Gaming.
It all started in game one for Grizz Gaming.Memphis led 17-16 after the first quarter, but a dreaded second quarter would lie ahead for Memphis. Grizz Gaming would get outscored by Lakers Gaming 25-10 in the second frame leading to a 13 point deficit heading into the second half.
Memphis would trail by as much as 17 in the third quarter before a disconnect from Los Angeles that would lead to a reset. Following that reset, Memphis had a total of eight minutes in front of them to complete a crazy comeback. Memphis would make a run in the second half and cut the Lakers lead down to four, but they would run out of time as Memphis would drop game one 64-58 to the Lakers.
Following a brutal game one, Memphis would head over to West Coast Servers, and it didn’t seem like it had hurt them in the first two quarters. Grizz Gaming center Goofy would go crazy in the first two quarters, dropping 14 points and 13 rebounds. It looked like Goof was on a mission to force a game three for Grizz Gaming.
Unfortunately, Memphis would fall apart in the second half of game two. Goofy would get away from what was working in the paint, and Vandi wasn’t able to turn into ‘Vandini’ all night. Grizz Gaming would fall to Lakers Gaming in game two with a final score of 64-57.
The biggest upset from night one included the Grizz, as they would fall to the 2-11 22 seeded Lakers Gaming in the first round of the Turn Tournament. Grizz Gaming will be back in action next week as they close out their regular season hunting for a playoff spot.
