Though the Memphis Grizzlies didn’t have any games in the past week and a half due to postponements in relation to the health and safety protocols, the GBB podcast network kept on trucking.

All 4 shows ran this week, and we had wonderful insight from our podcast hosts, as well as esteemed national and local media members.

The Starting 5: Blessing in Disguise

On this weeks’ episode of the Starting 5 podcast, they review the previous week of games before the postponements, give their star of the week, highlight the potential return of JJJ and Justise, and preview this week’s slate after the postponements.

3 & D: ESPN’s Bobby Marks On the Current State of Memphis and the NBA

Bobby Marks from ESPN joins the show with Justin Lewis and Ben Hogan to discuss pandemic basketball and the future of the Memphis Grizzlies based on their current play.

The Core 4: Remembering Kobe, And The Upside of Jaren Jackson Jr. and 2018 Draft Class

Nathan Chester and I kick off the show remembering Kobe Bryant and some of their memories of him from watching him battle the Grizzlies. We also talk about how awesome the 2018 draft class is, where Jaren Jackson Jr. falls among them, and who (outside of Luka and Trae Young) would they want to see next to Jaren and Ja.

GBB Live: Living in a Pandemic Season, Answering Rotation Questions about Justise Winslow

Joe Mullinax is out this week, but I have Geoff Calkins, a columnist from the Daily Memphian and the host of the “Geoff Calkins” show on 92.9 ESPN, on the show. We talk about how having COVID-19 alters their perception of the NBA season in a pandemic. We answer rotation questions about Justise Winslow’s fit and the backup 2-guard position. Finally, we close the show with Geoff’s favorite Grizzlies column over the years, and who he thinks is the most under appreciated player in Grizzlies history.
