In today’s media availability, Grizzlies Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Zach Kleiman said that they didn’t find any suitable trades at the deadline that fit the team’s long-term vision. With this announcement, the Grizzlies are letting Dieng go to a team of his desire. Meanwhile, for the Grizzlies, they have different avenues they can go down for the 15th spot — whether it’s a veteran, a young player, or converting Killian Tillie’s two-way contract.
The 8-year veteran big man averaged 7.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 16.9 minutes per game in 22 games this season. In addition, he shot a career-best 47.9% from 3 on 2.7 attempts per game. Now, he’ll enter the market as a stretch big man that can also protect the rim.
