The Memphis Grizzlies found a suitor for Eric Bledsoe, who reportedly was not going into Memphis, per Yahoo’s Chris Haynes.
The Los Angeles Clippers are trading Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo and Daniel Oturu to the Memphis Grizzlies for guard Eric Bledsoe, sources tell ESPN.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) August 16, 2021
Patrick Beverley has played a pivotal role as the Los Angeles Clippers’ starting point guard, but last year was riddled with injuries. He averaged 7.5 points per game, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 22.5 minutes per game, while shooting 39.7% from 3 (3.8 attempts per game). Rajon Rondo came over to the Clippers via midseason trade, averaging 7.6 points and 5.8 assists on 48.6% from the field in 20.4 minutes per game. Daniel Oturu was the 33rd pick in the 2020 draft, only appearing in 30 games in 5.4 minutes per game (1.8 points and 1.6 rebounds per game).
Surely, there will be a bunch of waiving and potential deals going on here, as this move pushes the Grizzlies to 17 players — not including two-way players Killian Tillie and Sean McDermott. This likely means there are more moves on the horizon, as the Grizzlies now have 4 point guards on the roster and a plethora of young big men in the mix.
